Nida Dar, a Pakistan all-rounder, did well in the first two matches of the T20I series against Ireland and was rewarded with an improved ranking from the International Cricket Council (ICC) in their latest T20I rankings.
Dar has been phenomenal throughout the first two games of the three-game series in Lahore, excelling with both bat and ball. She is the T20I series’ joint-leading wicket-taker so far and the top run-scorer through the first two games.
The right-handed batter opened the series with a half-century in Pakistan’s six-wicket loss to Ireland, and she followed that respectable effort up with an even better performance of 28 in the second clash, which Pakistan won by six wickets on Monday. For her all-round showing in the second T20I, the right-handed batter was named the player of the match – making her the Pakistani player with the greatest number of players of the match awards in the shortest format of the game.
Dar’s recent performance has been excellent, moving her up three ranks to 35th among batters in the Women’s T20I rankings and up one spot to 15th among bowlers after taking three wickets in the first two games of the series. This is a great achievement and we hope she can keep up the good work!
In the Women’s T20I bowler rankings, Pakistan seamer Nashra Sandhu has risen four spots to tie for 25th with Ireland’s Arlene Kelly.
